Introducing: my new Saluki boy! What's funny is he was origionally a Beagle. AWKWARD, LOL! Anyway, he's a black 'n' silver solid feathered Saluki. (info on Saluki colors -> [link] ) His anatomy is really awkward, I know. I don't quite know why. The toes came out all wrong. Eh, it'll be better next time.

Marzipan is a dog owned by a very well-to-do family in the Victorian part of planet Opalian. He's a major rarity in the area, but he likes to run off to the Hotseth Desert and run with the wild packs of Salukis that hunt the leggy hares in the area. These packs, like all of the wild dog packs, come from Salukis whose owners died, or were abandoned. Every once in a while, a member of the pack will be captured (usually young members, this also often happens with litters of pups) and taken to be trained to hunt for an owner. This is how Marzipan ended up in his home. Despite his love of hunting his own meat, he loves his pet home where he can sleep on any furniture and is cared for by a personal servent who grooms him, feeds him, and generally does his bidding (note that all creatures can talk on Opalian). He got his name because he was lured by one of the almond confections into the crate that was used to take him to his new home. He loves the things. He's still under development, and next week he might be a circus dog or something. =.='

Your freaking WORLD sounds so awesome. As is Marzipan-boy. :O (hee, marzipan. that used to be my favourite treat back in the day, and I'd always look forward to eating it off wedding cakes whenever my mum and dad went to one.. but ANYWAY.) he looks very Saluki-y, his markings are awesome (that new technique you use for straight hair is pretty cool too).. and that buttfluff is love. :3

OMG I saw your Italian Greyhound IB submissions. They're adorable! If I bred Iggys I would so use them. XD

I have a very rampant imagination, which tends to involve creating planets and everything that lives on it. Case in point: my first two books are about another planet ruled by a cat-like race of aliens who are super inteligent and can use magic. O.O Yeah, I love marzipan too. At the grocery store they sell marzipan-filled dark chocolate, which is to die for!

Thanks. The texture requires a lot of work with a 1 pixel brush. >.< It takes forever, but it looks good. ^.^ I really like how his left ear came out, especially where the long fur starts. Now I just need to figure out how to make the tail fur more thin 'n' stringy like a lot of Salukis have.

Heehee, I've also got some for whippets ('natch) and St. Bernards, since they were lowest on the breed picture count the first time I tried. They all varied in the Breed Resemblance department which I found odd seeing as I just used the same lineart o.O eh.

Rampant imaginations are GOOD things. -nods- I always love how fantastical your characters and worlds are =)
Marzipan-filled dark chocolate would make me chocgasm for a week and I have to find out where I can get my hands on some.

A frigging 1 PIXEL BRUSH. :O you, my dear basenji-Anubis, are insane and certainly more patient than I am.
About the tail fur, I find that a good technique is to make the fur more droopy. When it's all curved like you have it here, it looks fluffy, but making it more straight-looking and like gravity is acting on it would help with that illusion. I could provide you with links to my Saluki pictures so you can see what I mean, if that's not clear. hope it helps you!
